The round tower (or “torrione”) stands on the highest point of Mura, in front of the church of San Giovanni. The first information written on the tower dates back to 1482. Twenty-five meters high and with a central part of ten meters in diameter, it could be accessed, in all probability, by means of some removable wooden stairs starting from the walkway of the walls.

The "Chiusure di Mura" were the space between the town walls and the semicircular enclosure of the moat of the enclosures.
The large moat has long since disappeared but the ancient embankment is still visible in some places, as well as its path thanks to the conservation of two of its elements: the Porta di Mura and the round tower (also known as the "tower").
