Source Tourist Information Deidesheim: With the partial redesign in 2010, part of the palace grounds was redesigned into a recreation and adventure area for all generations. On around 2,000 square meters there are around 20 play and adventure stations, most of which are barrier-free. The main attraction is a 9-hole adventure golf course, the obstacles of which are made of regional basalt rock, sandstone or wood from the Palatinate Forest biosphere reserve. The facility is complemented by a boules court, a Kneipp arm pool, a sensory course, a water play area, various climbing and sound areas, a giant sequoia tree and a service center with a kiosk and barrier-free toilet facility. An 18-meter-long “tree snake” and a slackline invite young and old to do balance exercises. The botanical rarities in the adventure garden are signposted with an overview board and individual information boards that point out special features and curiosities. A small quiz offers children and young people an incentive for a “botanical experience”.
