From this spot, you can see Stonehenge standing proudly in the distance. As soon as I saw it, though, I knew I had to get closer. Keep riding along this track and take the path right and you can get as close to this Neolithic monument as the paying tourists do.

After passing through Amesbury on the King Alfred's Way, this is a great viewpoint to take in Stonehenge. Although in the distance, you can really appreciate the magnitude of this stone circle, albeit without the crowds or entrance fee!

Further along you'll come to Avebury stone circle, which is larger and free to roam around.
