When crossing the Frankenbahn at post 47, a line bus of the Deutsche Bundesbahn collided with the express train Tübingen-Stuttgart-Würzburg on June 20, 1959. Human failure of the gatekeeper was the cause of the worst bus accident to date after the war. 45 people died and 27 people were injured.
