The Stormvogel is an octagonal tower mill with a function of corn and hulling mill. It is a striking windmill on the outskirts of Loppersum. The mill was built in 1850 by Meinardus Harms Bolt and has changed owners regularly since then. The last private owner was Ies Nienhuis, who bought the mill in 1955. In 1966 he sold the mill to the municipality of Loppersum, but remained the owner of the miller's house himself.
