In 1702 the first church was built in Radegast. In 1874, the nave was rebuilt, and the tower increased, so that he is now 35 m high. ,

Unfortunately I didn't have time to visit the church on my tour between Weißandt-Gölzau and Brehna. The photos do not adequately reflect the artists' windows.

The village church in Radegast is one of the now more than 30 churches in the glass art project Lichtungen by the Evangelical Church of Anhalt together with the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments and Archeology in Halle and the support group "Resolute Churches in the Church District of Zerbst" e.V. When windows are renovated or exchanged in churches of the Anhalt Evangelical Church need to be, the initiators are trying to get artists to design the new windows.

The neo-Romanesque brick church was built in 1875. The west tower from 1752 has been preserved from the previous church. A bell storey was added as part of the new building. In 1935 a porch was added to the entrance on the west side, the transept galleries were removed in the 1930s. The slate roof was renewed in the 1990s. Since 1999 the church has been gradually repaired and redesigned. A winter church was installed under the western gallery, as well as a kitchen and toilets.

The "Lichtungen" windows in Radegast were installed from 2007 and come from glass artist Thomas Kuzio. From 2010, windows were also installed in the transepts, initially in the choir room, and then in the nave in 2021.

The Lichtungen website (see below) writes further about the windows:

The glasses are made of lead glazing with real antique glass and painted on the glass on a white background with shades of blue and honey using a complex technique. Above each, three small arched windows shine in a strong blue. Here the artist has integrated parts of the earlier diamond glazing. The windows in the nave of 2021 are largely covered by the galleries and have been designed in very muted tones of pale white, gray and ochre. The company Derix Glasstudios in Taunusstein was responsible for the execution of the windows.
