During WWII aircraft guns were tested on the old firing range. Messerschmitts were mainly deployed at the start of the shooting range. At the end stood a bullet catcher, where bullets were caught in the loose sand. There is a remembrance path with personal stories from the wartime in the Fliegerhorst area. The shooting range itself has been restored.

Small arms and on-board weapons were tested in aircraft on the old firing ranges. At the beginning of the gun range, Messerschmitts were mainly used. Ahead was a bunker used as a bullet trap.
Reminder Path
A memorial path has been constructed along the gun range with personal stories from the wartime in the Fliegerhorst area. Stories about the expelled peasants, the occupation, battles, the liberation and more.
Artwork
The gun range has since been restored. Artist Paul de Kort transformed the old bullet trap in collaboration with landscape architect Marcel Eekhout into a work of art.
