For long stretches you are somewhat protected by the dam on the east side. Please note that the Passerelle du Pilou at the northern end has limited opening times. Probably 8:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. in summer. We saw 11:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. on October 3, 2024. Without this bridge you have to take a big detour via the Maguelone peninsula.
