This railway line is really idyllic. The cycle path connects the Wuppertaler Nordbahntrasse and Hattingen, where you can reach the RuhrtalRadweg very quickly.
The route runs through the middle of the green and is really beautiful. It is not paved, but the well-groomed gravel surface is also passable with the road bike, at least when it is dry. On the way worth a stop in the old Sprockhöveler station, which is located next to the road. There are delicious, homemade cakes, fresh waffles and next door is a health food store.

In the area Sprockhövel is a sign on the bike path with the reference to the cafe, etc. Here you should rest! The restaurant is also an organic shop with a wide range of items and is called "ALTER BAHNHOF" Here you can go on the narrow path directly on the sign and enjoy delicious cakes and coffee outside, friendly service and hearty meals are available. Everything at a reasonable price / performance ratio.

The coal route is well developed, solid gravel. The northern end is in Hattingen at the Shell gas station, the southern in Wuppertal-Schee.
Directly in Hattingen there's the Schulenberg tunnel.
From Hattingen you have a permanent, easy climb and should not tackle the increase too fast.
