Hull mill without cap and gallery

    Translated by Google •

The “Dorathea” windmill in Büsum was built in 1881 to replace a post mill. Today the former gallery mill is only a trunk mill without a cap and gallery. It was converted into a residential and commercial building in 2001.

        History of the mill:

        1881
This year the mill was built at its current location. An old post mill was removed.

        1917
The Rodenbäck family came from Horst to Büsum and bought the mill and the surrounding lands from the Haß family from Meldorf. There was a feed trade and agriculture.

        1923
The mill is taken over by the daughter Bertha Henriette Ruesch née Rodenbäck with her husband Alfred Ruesch. This was a miller by profession.

        1970
Their son Heinz Ruesch took over the mill from his parents. Grain was ground and a feed trade operated for another 30 years. In the first few years this was done on the old millstones. Later everything was converted electrically.

        2001
Since that year, the mill has been restored, all machines removed and converted into a cozy place.
