Already from the Fichtelberg, the Keilberg or the Plattenberg in Czech you can recognize a large white block as the most striking object on the Auersberg. The radar station was completed in 1985 and henceforth popularly referred to as the "Stasi mosque" due to the dome. Since the 1990s, Deutsche Flugsicherung has been using the building as one of six SREM radar systems in Germany after a renovation.
