Tips

The Ascherhütte lies in the wide basin of the Kübelgrubengrund. It was built in 1895 by the Asch section from the former Sudetenland and inaugurated in 1896. After the Sudeten Germans were driven out of the city of Asch, the section members from all parts of Germany came together and continued the hut. The local mountain is the 2,936-meter-high Rotpleiskopf with a wonderful panoramic view over the Zugspitze to the Ortler. The Ascherhütte is managed by Daniel Schütz.
