In the middle of the fantastic mountain scenery, already on Swiss soil, at 2,265 m lies the Heidelberger Hütte. Numerous challenging but also family-friendly hiking trails lead to the hut. The hostess likes to take guided mountain tours. In addition, many interesting mountain bike trails lead to or past the Heidelbergerhütte. Such as the Alpencross, the tour from Ischgl or biking over the Fimberpass to Switzerland. Extra tip: The Heidelberger hut is one of five stations of the culinary Way of St. James in Paznaun. Open from about mid-May to about mid-September.

I felt very comfortable here in the only alpine club hut on Swiss soil. The rustic hut owner and the fact that hikers and cyclists like to stay here also contributed to this.

From Kappl, an initially steep path leads up to the Bodenalpe. Then the path becomes flatter and climbs with 300 m and a length of 8 km up to the Heidelberger hut (Switzerland)
The border crossing is marked with a classic sign. (There is no turnpike)
Up here at the Heidelberger Hut there are cows, horses and marmots.
There is also a stop for transal-price mountain bikers
