Osor (Italian Ossero) is a small town on the island of Cres in Croatia. It is located on the Kavada channel that separates the northern island of Cres from the southern island of Lošinj. Here is the narrowest land connection between the two islands, a strategically favorable ship passage since ancient times. Even today, the canal is mainly used by smaller fishing boats and tourist boats.

The swing bridge for ships opens twice a day. At 9 am and 5 pm, smaller ships can pass the canal for half an hour.

Unfortunately, cars are still allowed to park on the canal. Otherwise, it's a nice little serenade and you have the opportunity to try swimming against the current in the canal. But watch out for boats!
