In the middle of the old town, that's nice, well worth a visit.

The church dates from the first half of the 15th century, but has been expanded several times. It probably replaced an older church. The masonry of the church is made of brick, but was whitewashed for more than 100 years.

The architecture is characterized by the Gothic style, as it was common in the 15th century. The tower was built shortly after the Reformation around 1550 and has the special feature that it is widest at the top. The north wing was built in 1592-93. The pulpit, from 1593 and a gift from the mayor Fr. Busk, is a beautiful wood carving in the Renaissance style. In the course of the major restoration in 1934-35, the church was given the south transept. The church interior was extensively renovated in 1995-96, repairing the historical inventory and the new altarpiece by the artist Arne Haugen Sørensen giving the church a special character. Just like the new baptismal font, designed by Arne Haugen Sørensen and made by Per Hebsgaard.

The old organ prospectus from 1633 has been preserved and is one of the oldest in Denmark. The old baroque organ was reconstructed and inaugurated on Palm Sunday 2019. The old altarpiece by Sophus Schack is now in the south wing near the new organ. A limestone sundial can be seen walled in on the westernmost buttress to the south. It dates from 1728.
