Bottsand is a spit formed by the Baltic Sea, with beach ridges, dunes, and dry grasslands. The beach is used as a breeding ground by endangered bird species such as little terns, Arctic terns, and ringed plover. To ensure the undisturbed development of the beach and dune habitat with its specialized animal and plant species, access is prohibited year-round.
