The former river bends of the Amper, with their extensive reed beds, are an ideal habitat, especially for reed-nesting bird species. The Amper's expansive valleys contrast sharply with the steep slopes of the Leiten river. Many beautiful viewpoints are located along the high valley edges. The area is ideal for hiking, cycling, and other outdoor activities year-round. The long-distance cycle path "Ammer-Amper Cycle Path" runs right through the scenic Amper Valley.
