Laboe was founded between 1226 and its first written mention in 1240 as a German village, but probably already existed before a Slavic fishing village called "Lubodne", in German "Schwanenort"; the coat of arms Laboes, the swan, can therefore be traced back to the old Slavic name.

To my taste, there are the fish sandwiches at the port in Laboe, which may rightfully call themselves "Matjesbrötchen", also noteworthy as "rollmodel", all around simply good 😊 and nice. Eaten on site at the harbor, here in this fresh harbor air with a cool beer 🍺 I leave every "Bismarck roll left 🤪
