The bridge was built in 1617, unlike wooden bridges, the massive stone arches also withstood flooding. Thus, in the past, the Steinerne Steg was often the only crossing over the Passer. From here you can see far into the Gilfenklamm and even in midsummer it is pleasantly cool here!
