The castle Altdahn is the ruin of a rock castle in the southern Palatinate Forest, the German part of the Wasgau (Rhineland-Palatinate). Source & more: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burg_AltdahnThe castle ruin is a highlight for young and old, there are many angles and corners to climb and some dark chambers to explore ... ;-) In addition, you have a wonderful view from up here.

Three castle ruins on 5 rocks and a length of 220 meters. This castle complex is one, if not the highlight of the Dahn Rockland, if you ignore all the natural rock formations. You can discover a lot here and it is not just an adventure for children to explore.

Castle Altdahn perched on several rock towers east of the same place. As is often the case with rock-surgeons, several plants have formed side by side, separated by deep trenches. Altogether there are three plants, which were distributed on five rock towers. The origin of the plant is in the 11th century. 1488 were built to protect all three castles large fortress elements. To date, numerous residues have been obtained, e.g. Chambers in the mountain or parts of the ring wall, which invite today for a long visit and for a lengthy exploration. It's worth a visit! Admission is chargeable.

Three adjacent castles, almost fused together and like a string of pearls, fascinate by their uniqueness in construction. The panoramic view of them is terrific.
