Location: east of Dahn. The oldest parts of the largest castle complex of the Palatinate date back to the 11th century. Built on free-standing steep cliffs, Dreierburg is a typical Wasgauburg with chambers, steps and passages hewn in rock. Castle tours for groups by appointment.

The castle Altdahn is the ruin of a rock castle in the southern Palatinate Forest, the German part of the Wasgau (Rhineland-Palatinate). Three castle ruins on 5 rocks and a length of 220 meters. This castle complex is one, if not the highlight of the Dahn Rockland, if you ignore all the natural rock formations. You can discover a lot here and it is not just an adventure for children to explore.

Castle Altdahn perched on several rock towers east of the same place. As is often the case with rock-surgeons, several plants have formed side by side, separated by deep trenches. Altogether there are three plants, which were distributed on five rock towers. The origin of the plant is in the 11th century. 1488 were built to protect all three castles large fortress elements. To date, numerous residues have been obtained, e.g. Chambers in the mountain or parts of the ring wall, which invite today for a long visit and for a lengthy exploration. It's worth a visit! Admission is chargeable.

Three castle ruins built on five rocks. Over 220 meters extends this highlight, which you should definitely visit when visiting the Dahn. No entry, all in one, admission is required for the castle museum. The entrance to the castle will be closed in the evening.
