On November 18, 1907, the hydroelectric power station in Langweid, Swabia, north of Augsburg, went online. Even a century later, it still supplies thousands of households with energy. Since the end of June 2008, its rooms have been home to the Lech Museum Bavaria - an interactive museum aimed at all age groups. Visitors can learn about power plant technology, but above all about the development of the Lech in the context of the environment, culture and industrial use. A special attraction is the drained historical display turbine, which can be accessed on two levels. An educational trail on the subject of hydropower in the outdoor area of the power station and a replica of a historical Lech raft round off the exhibition. Source and further information: lechmuseum.de/lechmuseum_startseite A beautiful historical hydroelectric power station! The Lech Museum Bavaria is open every first Sunday of the month from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free. Very informative and interesting.
