The fountain in the Schwarzenbach valley was created in 1957 and 1958 under the direction of district forester Chrstian Schwarz. August Arzt and Kurt Reumschüssel, forest workers in the town of Biedenkopf, carried out the construction work.

The quarries for the construction come from the surroundings of the fountain. These round stones as a weathering form of green stone (diabase) are often found in the forests around Biedenkopf. So there was a sufficient number here.
