This magnificent viewpoint is located on the top of Tjeldbergtinden, an inconspicuous mountain west of Svolvær. After a short but tough climb, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view of the mountains, lakes and sea.
Svolvær airport is just a 10-minute drive from the car park. So it's an ideal hike if you have some time before your flight and want to use it sensibly.

This final push to Tjeldbergtind is rocky and steep, requiring surefootedness and decent hiking experience. If you don't fancy it, there's an easier alternative that branches off left and meets the summit more gradually.

Hammer view! In winter, the path through snow and ice is indeed walkable but you should absolutely bring the necessary surefootedness. Important in winter: ascend from the north-west side, which is extremely steep but would be no way downhill.
