Machern Monastery Brewery

A very nice place. The food is great. And you sit beautifully on the Moselle. I highly recommend it.

In the year 2000, the Trier Civic Association 1864 GmbH and the Günther Reh Foundation jointly acquired the property and had the surviving buildings completely renovated by 2004. Then they opened the former monastery to the public. The buildings are now home to several catering facilities, a monastery brewery with adjoining brewery, a wine cellar and a distillery. In addition, a building is used as a museum, in which on the one hand historical doll and tin toys mainly from the period 1850 to 1925 is exhibited, and on the other hand around 200 icons from Russia, Romania and Ethiopia are shown. A short break in the chapel is good ... and the food in the monastery cafe is also good. In any case, everything is well organized and friendly!
