The Castillo de Santed is located on a mountain and dominates the border between Aragon and Castile. In the early days the castle hill was part of a Celtiberian settlement, later the castle was built. This became particularly important in the Middle Ages together with the castles of Peracense, Tornos, Albarracín and the city of Daroca as part of the defense line of Aragon against the Kingdom of Castile.
