For (racing) cyclists from the area around Wolkersdorf, the Mühlradsberg/Mühlratzberg is certainly the "local mountain" for tours and the ascent via Pfösing (as one of several variants via Manhartsbrunn and the Mühlratzberg) is perhaps the most well-known. The popularity can also be measured by the fact that cycling events (Junior World Championships 1977 with repeated completion of a circuit via Putzing and Großebersdorf) were held here as early as the 1970s. Overall, it is a relatively long and consistently straight ascent with hardly any curves, which in the steepest but short section after the church in Pfösing reaches over 13-15% (varies depending on the information, according to the sign 14%). In addition, in this section you have to deal with a paved road ("cat's eyes"), which is more annoying when going down this stretch because of the "shaking effect" than when driving uphill. The ascent begins in Münichsthal (approx. height of the tennis courts) and only gets a little flatter in between before it rises noticeably again after entering Pfösing and, after a short "recreational section" in front of the church, unfolds into the steepest section mentioned. Conversely, coming from Manhartsbrunn or Schleinbach, you can roll down to Münichsthal. Since you quickly pick up speed on the descent (the steep descent right at the beginning), you should pay attention to other road users and generally to driveways and house entrances and exits, especially at the crossing after the church (small side road from the right with obstructed view from the church). will. The slope is certainly a challenge for beginners, but a welcome change for advanced climbers.

The notorious Pfösing increase. Short and sweet, cobblestones only on a very short section after the church. No problem uphill on a racing bike
