It's not just the white color, which draws the attention and perhaps even a little curiosity of passing cyclists, that makes this small sacred monument special. Rather, it's the detailed design, with the many symbols adorning the cross's longitudinal and transverse beams. People from past generations were able to decipher such imagery better than we are today. The numerous symbols of Jesus' Passion visible here are intended to remind the viewer of the suffering and pain of the Son of God, which he endured out of love for humanity.
