The Schützenverein Lutten had the idea of a school orchard and donated it to the Don Bosco Primary School in 2011 for their anniversary. The aim of the project is to show children in practice the importance of insects, butterflies, birds and a flowering meadow. This knowledge can then flow into the lessons from practice. Members of the rifle club planted a meadow orchard with apple and pear trees with schoolchildren and teachers. In addition, a flowering meadow was created and insect hotels and colorful nesting boxes were built and set up. Meanwhile, the apple and pear harvest of Natur AG takes place annually at the elementary school. The harvested fruit is offered to the children as a healthy break snack and cooked or baked in the Koch AG at school. The rifle club regularly mows the meadow, prunes the trees, repairs nest boxes and insect hotels, maintains the seating and is expanding this project. Finally, an information board was set up with all the information about the flowering meadow.
