Schlossberg
The "landmark" of the city of Pegnitz is 544 m high.
Böheimstein Castle, which was destroyed by the Nuremberg people in 1553, once stood at the top. Today nothing can be seen of the castle, only the moat, which leads in a wide arc around the observation tower, is still clearly visible.
97 steps lead up to the tower - a worthwhile climb because of the wonderful panoramic view of the city and the surrounding area. Various events take place on the festival meadow in the summer months, including the Waldstock Festival, the Summer Night Festival of Young People and Gregori.
In addition, a beer garden invites you to quench your thirst, linger and make a snack. Warm & cold specialties from the Greek & Franconian cuisine are offered. The area around the beer garden offers children plenty of space to play.
