Mountain Biking Highlight
The Melibokus is the highest point in the Odenwald and the viewpoint par excellence. If the weather is right, you have a unique view of the Palatinate Forest and the Taunus. For bikers here is a starting point for real trail fun: All around there is a wide single trail network.

The Melibokus is a 517.4 m above sea level. NHN high mountain.
(or Melibocus, also called Malchen or Malschen and earlier Spitzberg)
The mountain is located on the western edge of the Odenwald above the mountain road between Darmstadt in the north and Heidelberg in the south immediately east of Zwingenberg exactly on the border between Bensheim (district Auerbach) and Alsbach-Hähnlein

A great place, I'm lucky enough to climb the big radio tower and enjoy the view every time anew.
Under the small tower is a small restaurant which is open on Saturdays and Sundays. If the restaurant is open, the lookout tower can also be climbed.

The 517 m high Melibokus near Zwingenberg is visible from afar and is the most striking mountain on the Hessian mountain road. In addition, the Melibokus is the highest elevation at the transition from the Odenwald to the flat Hessian Ried and offers ideal opportunities for a trip, especially for hikers and mountain bikers.

It doesn't get any higher on the Bergstrasse. And although 517 meters above sea level does not sound high at first, some of the ascents from the plain are quite steep and have an altitude of up to 400 m. For this reason alone, the melibocus is worthwhile as an (intermediate) destination. And with a clear view, the view extends far into the Palatinate.
