Even with your brakes full on, if muddy, you are going to go down hill whether you like it or not! This is steep. Best to take it slow to the crest, check all is clear (no other riders or walkers at the bottom) and slowly release. Once you get going stay loose and flexible. Good fun but can be a bit scary if not (like me) a regular off roader.
