Hiking

The Hohenlimburg water tower is located on Boeingstrasse in Hohenlimburg, Hagen.[1][2] It was built in 1885 in the historicism style. It is an octagonal tower made of yellow and red bricks. It served as a lookout tower. The water tanks themselves are hidden in the slope as a cave. Today the tower is privately owned.

On the Wesselbachtal, a side valley of the Lenne, there is a lookout tower at a lower level opposite the Hohenlimburg, popularly called the "Wasserturm von Hohenlimburg". The stone structure itself, however, never had the function of a water tower in the true sense, but is to be seen as an architectural element, built on a water tank behind it in the ground. This formerly served the water supply of the city of Hohenlimburg. Today the tower is privately owned.
