Mountain Biking Highlight
As you have probably recognized from time to time, the shortest route is not always the fastest. Especially not when it leads up really steeply. This ancient wisdom was once painfully felt by the Ruhpolding wrestlers in 1974. They wanted with a cannon in tow for the founding of the mountain gun company Wössen and chose the steepest way to the pass as a shortcut. It was a hot day and despite all the effort they came too late. The commemorative plaque on the pass today recalls this event.
