Conversely, the view from here is incredibly beautiful. The long, steep cliff face stretching from Gran Roa to Balest is rightly a protected natural monument. It is rich in geological treasures and contains many inclusions originating from the sea.

The "Troi Paian" path, which runs alongside the rock face, was used in the Middle Ages to connect the mine in Buchenstein to the Diocese of Brixen. Today, it is a lovely and pleasant hiking trail.
