Road cycling
The climb up to Eisriesenwelt Werfen – the largest ice caves in the world – is known as one of the hardest around Salzburg. It is 3.6 kilometers long and has up to 17 % gradient. The view down to Castle Hohenwerfen as well as the surrounding mountains is kind of a consolation for the effort.
Watch out for the gravel road behind the main building of the ice caves. This is where the real adventure starts.
