While the small hamlet of Selbensberg is rather unknown, its resident Raimund Harmstorf is a very well-known actor, who became famous for his role as Wolf Larsen in the four-part series "Der Seewolf". He also shone in the series "Der Kurier des Zaren" as Michael Strogoff and alongside Bud Spencer in "Sie nannten ihn Mücke" as the opposing coach of the American football team.
Harmstorf recently suffered from Parkinson's disease and, due to medication, from anxiety and delusions, which is why he committed suicide at the age of 58 on his farm here in Selbensberg.
