The English Work is a park that was created around 1828 near the Dutch city of Zwolle. A design in romantic English landscape style by probably Hendrik van Lunteren was realized on former fortifications. The walking park is located southwest of the city in the hamlet of Spoolde, directly behind the Katerveijk, the winter dyke of the river IJssel. The English Work is a national monument because of its status as a former fortification.
