This Gillan Creek crossing can be made on foot at low tide. At high tide you will either need to walk around the creek (which is quite a long detour) or, as others have suggested, catch a ride in a boat.

Hiking

The river crossing near Gillan Creek is actually a bit of an adventure. If you are here to hike the South West Coast Path, you could almost despair at this point. The hiking trail leads straight to the bay. From here you can either walk around the water in a wide arc or wait patiently for a boat. With a bit of luck and a nice request, you can get a free transfer in the fishing boat.
