The narrow-gauge railways have existed in Bielefeld since 1901, tram line 1 to Schildesche still uses parts of the old route. Some station buildings worth seeing (including in Schildesche, Jöllenbeck, Dornberg) have been preserved and two bridges in Bielefeld-Schildesche (over the Johannisbach) and on the Talbrückenweg in Werther.
