Located on the Via Francigena, the tranquil village of Monterosi is the starting point for visits to the Sabatino mountains (Monte Sabatini) with the Lago di Bracciano volcanic lake, which is extremely popular with water sports enthusiasts. The area is still volcanic, even in Monterosi itself has a small volcanic lake with the Lago di Monterosi. From Monterosi to Lake Bracciano, the approximately 600 meters of "high" mountains are about seven kilometers away.
