      Memorial to the Windeck High Court

      The Galgenberg (356.1 m above sea level) in Nutscheid was used as the Windecker high court until the 19th century. Its placement directly on what was then a very busy highway was intended to deter foreign and shady people. The gallows square “Windecks Court” is still a destination for hikers and those interested in history. Only around 250 m east of it are three oak trees that are several hundred years old.
