An old radar observation shed ruin stands on the knoll at the end of the main gravel road. It has views to both the Bay and the Pacific, and to San Francisco's biggest prison. The Notch trail drops from here and initially is wide but then gets narrow and steeper, turning to stairs down and then up, climbing to Mori Ridge Trail
