On July 7, 2019, passenger transport by rail was resumed after around four years of planning and construction. Coradia LINT 41 locomotives are currently operating hourly, some in double traction, as RB 56 on the Bad Bentheim - Quendorf - Nordhorn - Neuenhaus route. A continuous connection to Emmen is planned.
