A former train stop became the Vennbahn's most representative building. When the Malmedy-Montjoie section was inaugurated, Sourbrodt had only one stop. The first houses were about a kilometre from this stop. But it didn't stop there. In 1889, a new station was built in Sourbrodt, four years after the first Vennbahn train stopped there. It was to become a jewel of the time. Today, the bricks above the doors and windows and the stucco decorations on the upper part of the gable are reminders of the once magnificent building.
