City of BraunschweigSchunterbrücke "Im Alten Dorfe" is being rebuiltBraunschweig. As part of the renaturation of the Schunter, the bridge in the old village between Rühme and Kralenriede will be replaced by a barrier-free new building. Work will begin on Monday, August 9th, with the setting up of the construction site and the construction of a construction road. The pedestrian and cycle path connection between the Schreberweg in the east and the street Im Alten Dorfe in the west will be closed for the construction period until the end of November. The forest path for pedestrians and cyclists from Schreberweg to the south, east of the Schunter, to Bienroder Weg remains free.
Alternatively, the Schunterbrücke Butterberg, which was newly built last year, is available to the south as an extension of the Ringelhorst street and to the north the Schunterbrücke as an extension of the Mark-Twain-Straße is available to a limited extent. However, due to the work being carried out there to renaturate the Schunter, they must also be temporarily closed. This is currently the case with the Schunterbrücke in the extension of Mark-Twain-Straße.
