Golbach was first mentioned as a church station in 1746. In 1894, Alfons Klöcker, probably the first person from Golbach, was ordained a priest. On July 23, 1904, the Kall pastor Paffenholz received authorization from the archbishop's authorities to lay the foundation stone for a chapel in Untergolbach under the title "Maria Hilf". In honor of the "Mother of Perpetual Help", the church was named "Maria Hilf Chapel". The building in the late Gothic style was carried out with the active help of the population. The small Golbach chapel of Maria Hilf, which the Eifelsteig passes, has a special feature that is unique in the entire region, and perhaps even beyond: there is no cross or rooster on the top of the church tower, but rather a gilded Mary in a halo. On the occasion of its 100th anniversary in 2004, the church received this work completely re-gilded by the hands of the Sistiger metalsmith Stefan Pütz.
