The tower on the Schlossberg is only open once a year, namely on the wine hiking day in Castell, which takes place on the first weekend in September. Then you can climb the last visible building of the former castle and enjoy the view of the wide foothills of the Steigerwald up to the Rhön. The associated castle complex on the Schlossberg, destroyed and rebuilt in 1525 during the Peasants' War, was abandoned by the Counts of Castell after the construction of the new castle in 1691 and demolished in the middle of the 18th century.

There is a campfire site there. This place is ideal for a break as there are enough places to sit. The view of Castell, including St. John's Church and other villages, is also amazing.
