Tips

  • Raffael

Actually a nice place with a great view towards Reichenbach on one side and the Rechberg on the other side. Unfortunately, one bench is in dire need of repair.
    Grilling is currently prohibited.

  • With the erection of the twelve-meter-high cross, the third Kaiserberg has also received a landmark that can be seen from afar.
The cross was created by a private initiative.
It was Waldstetter and Wißgoldinger craftsmen who made and erected this cross. It consists of a weatherproof laminated beam made of larch wood. Although larch wood is naturally very resistant to moisture, the wood on the upper surfaces was given a copper deposit for weather protection. It has not been painted, so over time it will form a natural patina. The cross is supported by two galvanized steel girders resting in a solid concrete foundation.

  • On 18 Septermber 2011, the new Stuifenkreuz was built and inaugurated. Nevertheless, there are two more "summit crosses" on the way to the highest point of the Stuifen (757m). The summit cross built in 1967 and a little further on the highest point of the summit stone with a cross attached to a dead tree.
At the beautiful Ausscihtsplatz there is a barbecue, a small hut and a very nice "compass" copper plate with reliefs of the surrounding mountains.

  • Of the three imperial mountains, the Stuifen is my favorite. There are many ascent variants and also possibilities for Wanderrunden.Noch on beautiful nature trails. The view of the Rechberg and Hohenstaufen is great. And it is usually quieter than on the other two imperial mountains.

  • The Stuifen at the community Waldstetten
The Stuifen is with 757 m the highest of the three Kaiser mountains and belongs to the municipality Waldstetten, in Ostalbkreis. Unlike the other two mountains, it was never built. Until the mid-19th century, it was a heathland and was then reforested.
The top of Stuifen can only be reached on foot. A possible starting point of the place Wißgoldingen at its feet. On the mountain there is a shelter and on the top a fireplace. All walks to the mountain and in the area are completely signposted. From Wißgoldingen about 200 meters in altitude must be overcome.

  • A little effort is needed to get to this lookout point.
But you will be rewarded with a great view.

  • In September 2011, a 12-meter-high wooden cross at 718 m was erected on an open space on the west side of the Stuifen. It is facing the other two imperial mountains (Rechberg and Hohenstaufen).

  • “Each of these crosses can tell its own story and what motivated people to erect“ their ”cross at this point. (...) These crossroads were erected as visible signs and attract the eyes of many people. The cross is a symbol of life. It stands as a sign of our Christian hope and wants to direct our gaze to Jesus Christ, who overcame death (...). The cross is part of our life, just as it was part of the life of Jesus. So I wish that many people ... visit the crossroads, whether as places of silence and breathing before God, whether as places of congregation meeting, prayer and praise of God. "
