At the beginning of the 1500s, the Municipality of Lazise donated land at the Pergolana to the friars of San Bernardino to build the convent on the remains of a previous sacred building. From 1574 to 1777 the property belonged to the Della Torre family who independently managed the religious functions of the church dedicated to Santa Maria Delle Grazie, annexed to the convent. The Della Torre heirs sold the Pergolana complex to Don Antonio Villa and his nephew Gio Battista. Caterina Villa, daughter of these, used all her wealth to decorate the Church. In 1816 he had Paolino Calipari paint the Assumption on the ceiling. On the death of the Villa in 1835 he inherited Giobatta Mutinelli, forced to sell after a few years.
