The Niederau parish is the first village in the Wildschönau anterior and lies on the border to the Brixental at an altitude of 826 m. A small Gothic church already existed in Niederau in 1409, which was enlarged in 1499 and baroque style around 1740.
The parish church is dedicated to St. Sixtus and St. Oswald, the patron saint of the church is celebrated on Sunday around August 5th and 7th.
